CHRISTMAS WISHES FROM THE CHILDREN AND TRUSTEES OF WATERLOO SCHOOLS CHARITY 2020 will be our 15th year of supporting the children of Waterloo Schools - the Zoe Carss Nursery School, Waterloo Primary School and The Peninsula Secondary School. None of this would have been possible without your ongoing financial support - so a really big thank you to you all. The summer concert was a great success. Huge thanks to the musicians - Lauretta Bloomer, Andre Swanepoel, Nancy Johnson, Sandy Batai and David Heyes. Special thanks also to the Inner Wheel Clubs of Redditch and Worcester Severn for promoting the event and making such delicious canapes and to David Timson of Vigornia Wines for providing the champagne We are delighted to welcome Neil Morland to the Board of Trustees. Neil has a wealth of experience in Sierra Leone and when he visits next April will bring back some photos and videos from Waterloo. This summer the charity has funded the refurbishment of the nursery and primary schools. |
The children at the Zoe Carss nursery school held a little graduation ceremony to mark the occasion! The Dr Read bursary programme is proving very successful in helping students meet the costs of going to university. Our first graduate Christopher Cole, an old boy of Peninsula Secondary School, is now working as a barrister in Freetown. Eku Williams and Raymond Parsons are in their final year at Fourah Bay University - the oldest university in Africa! |
We have just awarded bursaries to five new university students.
They are all ex pupils and recipients of our charity scholarships at Peninsula Secondary and will now have the opportunity to gain their degrees and make a real difference to the future of their country. Again our thanks to you all and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. |
Can you spare £5 per month? The students are eager to be educated and, as we are sure you will agree, education is the way forward for children to achieve their potential. Please consider making a regular donation by completing a standing order form and sending it to us. Please click on the link below, or contact us on any of the numbers given above. |
