As a charity we are doing what we can to support the Teachers, Children and Parents at the schools we support in Waterloo. We have provided extra security at the schools and funds to buy basic staple foodstuffs which are now in short supply and increasing in price rapidly. We will continue to do this while the crisis remains. Below is an extract from an email from our local trustee Mr Morlai Kamara which gives an idea of the problems they face.

We in Sierra Leone at the moment seriously need your prayers as the way things are at the moment, no one is sure of what happens the next day. Indeed people are living their lives as it is said 'one day at a time'.

Well as an update, the Community Health Officer, or head of the government hospital at Waterloo has also subdued to Ebola and was buried on Sunday. Our information is that he got infected while helping a sick person few weeks back. His wife is pregnant and he also has children. We don't even know what would be next, but our information is that the hospital would be quarantined soon. We are also told that the whole town of Waterloo may be quarantined soon. At the moment schools continue to be closed but people can travel to Freetown. Everyone is apprehensive of the other and we deal with ourselves at arms length. The close contact we use to have is no more. No more bathing of the dead before interment. Only the burial team set up by government can do burials. Some persons could be allowed to bury their dead but they need to obtain approval to do so. However, there should be a confirmation that the person did not die of Ebola. It now takes over 3-5 days before the government response team can collect bodies to carry out their tests and in most cases the bodies would have decomposed or started decomposing. Everything distorted at the moment.
