OUR NURSERY SCHOOL

The need for a nursery school

Village children come from different tribal and ethnic groups. Krio, a very basic "English" language, is spoken by less than 40% but is inadequate for teaching purposes. The remaining children have no knowledge of spoken or written English.

It is a government policy that tuition be in the English language.

The Zoe Carrs Educational Trust have funded the building of a purpose built unit with two classrooms - each with its own open sided play area (a "barrie" in African terms), which means that the children can benefit from their education in all weathers.
